Hemingway Editor is an online app that could make a real difference to your writing style.
Hemingway promises to make your writing strong and clear – similar to the minimalist style of the famous American author it is named after.
Simply cut and paste the text you’re working on into the browser and Hemingway will examine your writing and grade it on a colour-coded difficulty scale.
It also suggests improvements such as using simpler words, replacing adverbs with stronger verbs and eliminating the passive voice.
Hemingway is now also available in a desktop version that includes ‘Write’ and ‘Edit’ modes and enables you to save your documents and edit offline.
Hemingway might be just the tool you need to give you more confidence in your writing. Who knows, you might even have a novel in you!
